Access Your WordPress Dashboard

You can access your WordPress dashboard by one of 2 ways.

1 – Typing in the URL. Type yourdomainname.com/wp-admin.

And then you of course bookmark it and you can access that anytime you need.

2 – Go through your hosting provider.

Either way is fine however the quickest and easiest way is to type it in and then bookmark it.

WordPress Dashboard Walkthrough

Everyone’s dashboard is going to look a little different depending on the theme and plugins that you’re using.

The Navigation Menu

There’s a menu at the top and there’s a menu along the left side of the screen. There are different options when it comes to navigating your WordPress website. It just depends on your preference and how you work.

Pro Tip: Bookmark the login page so you can easily access it in the future.

  • Regularly review user roles to ensure security.
  • If you want to give someone access to your website, go to Users → Add New.
  • Choose the correct user role:
    • Administrator – Full website access
    • Editor – Can manage content but not website settings
    • Author – Can write and publish their own posts
    • Contributor – Can write but needs approval to publish
    • Subscriber – Limited access (for memberships or newsletters)

  • Adjust site layout and design.
  • Customize headers, footers, and typography.
  • Optimize for mobile-friendly design.

Cautionary Notes

  • Avoid granting Administrator access to untrusted users, as this can lead to security risks.
